October 16, 2026How can we advance artificial intelligence while keeping people at the heart of technological progress? This is the key question at the core of WUD-SIGCHI Italy 2026, an event exploring the relationship between technology, sustainability and human well-being, taking place on 12 November 2026 and hosted by the University of L’Aquila, an INNEXA member.
This year’s theme, “Designing a Sustainable Future with Ethical AI”, invites participants to reflect on how to develop responsible and inclusive AI systems that address people’s needs. Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), the field that studies how people interact with technology, will play a central role in the discussion, highlighting the importance of making innovation accessible, sustainable and human-centred.
Organised as part of the activities of SIGCHI Italy, the event will bring together researchers, professionals, businesses and students to share experiences and perspectives on the future of digital technologies. The morning programme will open with a talk by Guido Vetere, Adjunct Professor at Guglielmo Marconi University, followed by presentations and discussions on ethical and sustainable artificial intelligence.
Held in conjunction with World Usability Day, the event will offer an opportunity to explore an increasingly important challenge: ensuring that technological progress puts people, their rights and their well-being at the centre.
The event will take place at the Coppito Campus of the University of L’Aquila, with online participation also available. Attendance is free of charge, subject to registration.
